School Annual Report 2022-23

“Education is a shared commitment between dedicated teachers, motivated students and enthusiastic parents  with expectations”

It is a matter of pride for me to pen down the message outlining this year’s journey. A school’s role today is not only to pursue academic excellence, but also to motivate and empower its students to be lifelong learners.

Sri Sharada Public School, run by a well-established management, has carved a niche for itself in the educational sector. We believe that teaching-learning is a simple science “Put the learner at the centre of everything you do”. It outlines our high-quality curriculum that is designed with the learner in mind.

The academic calendar in 2022-23 was particularly challenging since it was the first school year after two years of isolation  caused by the pandemic. Students’ physical and emotional well-being were taken into consideration while planning the academic calendar. The school calendar was supplemented this year with many on-campus programmes and activities that contributed to a child’s overall development.

Academic progression

  • The achievement of academic excellence has always been our priority. Our school has consistently received 100% results since its inception and has produced many subject-centum scorers.
  • A constant effort is made to improve academic excellence. Meeting with teachers regularly to discuss students’ academic progress, developing effective teaching and learning methods, and providing remedial classes to help slow learners catch up with their peers.

SSPS on the rise:-

It is encouraging to see the school continue to grow and expand. We began our grade 11 Science wing this year with experienced faculty, well-equipped labs, as well as structured academic plans to prepare students for all competitive exams.

Teachers’ training programs:-

  • As educators, we’re responsible for adapting our knowledge to meet society’s evolving needs as well as the needs of individual students. This academic year, our educators have been taking several offline and online training courses recommended by CBSE to learn more about their learners’ mindsets and thought processes, so they can adapt to new changes.
  • Their training included; Reading competency enhancement, Inclusive Education, Joyful mathematics, competency-based education, Art integration across curriculum, Importance of values, and many others.

Training workshops:

By attending the Regional Forum’s IC3 workshop as well as Infosys’ Spring Board Training program, our teachers were able to gain an insight into what the future holds for the educational sector.

Developing young minds :-

  • The Science Exhibition held in campus this year,  allowed students to demonstrate their scientific reasoning skills using their working models, demonstrating the belief that imagination is more important than knowledge.
  • In today’s world, empowering students with entrepreneurial mindsets is vital. Our students participated in the Shark teens program in collaboration with SJCE engineering college, where they developed their entrepreneurial skills by working in teams and learning how to think as an entrepreneur.

Awareness-building

  • Personal hygiene awareness sessions were conducted for girls in campus in order to raise awareness of the importance of adequate and sufficient pubery related hygiene management.
  • A School Level Awareness Programme on Financial Literacy was conducted on campus in collaboration with the SDM Business and Management School. Its objective was to raise awareness about Financial Literacy among students in the school.
  • To create awareness about road safety among young people, the school partnered with radio station 93.5 Red FM.

Holistic wellness

  • The SSPS believes that physical activity is good for  both physical development. This year, sporting events received the utmost attention. The Annual Sports Meet was well organized in a sports stadium, giving students a chance to compete in a real sports arena.
  • A new program called “Retreat” was introduced to grade 10 students this year. An event of mind-body rejuvenation, where students pause, reflect, and recharge. This break was much needed, especially for this gadget-obsessed generation.
  • We introduced the concept of awarding “Star of the Month” badges to students every month this year in order to encourage and motivate them to develop good behavior, improve their English speaking skills, and demonstrate exemplary discipline.

This annual school magazine is a means of showcasing where we have reached,  where we wish to go. It is a reflection of a brilliant and glorious year that has recently passed, leading us boldly and confidently into the coming year.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the management of Sri Sharada Public School for their  unconditional support rendered at all times to ensure peak performance without compromise. I would also like to thank the teaching and non-teaching staff for their constant help and cooperation. Finally, a word of thanks to all the parents, for placing their trust and confidence in us. In the coming years, let us work together, continuously to impart better education to the next generation.
